In November 2024, Westchester Alliance for Sustainable Solutions (WASS) was chosen to be one of WE ACT for Environmental Justice’s Community Voices partners, and in that role, we’ll be designing several in-person trainings FOR YOU! To best design and deliver what your community needs, we need to hear from you. Please take this survey English or en español. and help guide development of the training we plan to host in Spring 2025.

Background
WE ACT for Environmental Justice has launched the EPA Region 2 Thriving Communities Technical Assistance Center (TCTAC), serving New York, New Jersey, and 8 Indian Nations. As one of the designated TCTAC Community Voices partner organizations, WASS will help Westchester County Environmental Justice communities access grant and funding opportunities to advance and address environmental, climate, and energy justice issues. We are focusing our outreach efforts in Peekskill, Mt. Vernon, Yonkers, New Rochelle, and Port Chester, Westchester’s EJ communities that are saddled with the County’s most severe environmental impacts.
WASS and WE ACT will offer training and support with connecting communities to Technical Assistance (TA) to build capacity for navigating grant application systems, write strong grant proposals, manage grants, and engage in environmental and energy justice decision-making. By focusing on smaller regional organizations like WASS, the TCTAC program amplifies the voices of underserved people by engaging with them personally and directly to understand their needs and keep open communication, then connects them with the powerful support of the EPA.
If your organization would like to benefit from this technical assistance training, please fill out our survey in English or en español.
